My Approach to Difficulties in Learning
Good day to everyone,
I understand that many of us face challenges in our learning journey, such as parents' monitoring of our school bags and diaries. But there's no need to fret or feel overwhelmed by these obstacles. As a student, I have also encountered similar situations, and I'd like to share my approach to dealing with these difficulties.
First and foremost, I believe that parents' monitoring is a manifestation of their love and concern for us. They might be doing it because they worry about us getting into trouble or making the wrong decisions. So, instead of feeling annoyed or upset about it, we should try to understand their intentions and perspectives.
Communication is key. I suggest that we sit down with our parents and have an honest conversation about our learning habits and privacy. We can express our thoughts and feelings, and they can share theirs. This open exchange of ideas can help us build trust and mutual understanding. If face-to-face communication is difficult, consider writing a letter expressing your thoughts and feelings, leaving it somewhere they are bound to find it.
Moreover, I try to approach my learning difficulties with a positive mindset. Challenges are merely opportunities for growth and learning. When I encounter a problem, I try to break it down into smaller parts and address each part individually. Seeking help from teachers or peers is not a sign of weakness but a smart move.
Lastly, I try to remember that every difficulty is temporary. What seems like a mountain today may seem like a small hill tomorrow. So, instead of being overwhelmed by difficulties, I choose to embrace them as part of the learning process and use them as stepping stones to success.
In conclusion, my approach to difficulties in learning is to stay calm, communicate, understand perspectives, approach problems positively, seek help, and remember that every difficulty is temporary. With these strategies, I believe that we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way.
Thank you for listening to my approach to difficulties in learning.Reply to TigerMom's Blog
I am Li Hua, and I recently read your blog post with great interest. As a fellow parent and an advocate for balanced education, I would like to share my thoughts on your rule for your daughter: to be among the top 5 students or face punishment.
Firstly, I understand your desire to push your daughter towards excellence, but I believe that we should foster a growth mindset rather than focusing solely on rankings. The key is not just about achieving high grades but also about developing critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and resilience.
Moreover, the fear of punishment may have a negative impact on your daughter's learning experience. Instead of motivating her to excel, it could create stress and anxiety, which can hinder her learning progress. I suggest that we encourage our children to strive for success by providing them with the necessary support and guidance, rather than relying on punishments.
Here are some suggestions that I believe could help:
1. Encourage exploration and try new activities: Encourage your daughter to explore her interests and talents beyond academics. This will help her develop a broader perspective and gain a sense of accomplishment from different areas.
2. Set realistic goals: Instead of focusing on rankings, help your daughter set realistic and attainable goals in different areas of her life, including academics, sports, arts, etc. This will help her feel more motivated and less pressured.
3. Promote a positive learning environment at home: Create a positive and encouraging environment at home where your daughter can share her challenges and struggles without fear of punishment. Encourage her to seek help when she needs it.
I hope these suggestions can help you rethink your approach to education. Ultimately, our goal should be to raise well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to tackle life's challenges, not just achieve high grades. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this important topic.

I am LiHua, a fellow student who recently saw your post seeking help. I am truly moved by your struggles and I am here to offer my support and assistance.
First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for sharing your experiences and challenges with us. Your courage and openness inspire me greatly.
Since you left, our class has gone through many changes and developments. We had an English speech competition recently and I was fortunate to win the first prize. This accomplishment reminds me of your guidance and support, which were invaluable to me.
I still remember the trees we planted together on the hill behind our school. We watered them yesterday and named the one you planted "Sue Wood". The class is eager to know if you will come back to see Sue Wood again. We miss you and hope you are doing well.
As for your recent situation, we hope to know more about you and your new life in America. We would love to hear about your experiences with your American students and your daily life there. We are eager to stay in close touch and share our experiences with each other.
Please do keep us updated about your life and we would love to know how you are doing. Our class is always here for you and we hope to see you again soon.
Wishing you all the best in life and may your days be filled with happiness and success.
